GSA's Office of the Chief Financial Officer, formed under The Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act of 1990, is responsible for:
- Financial management within the General Services Administration.
- Developing overall agency policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, financial reporting, and financial management systems.
- Formulating policies governing how financial services are provided and managed.
- Establishing and maintaining accounting principles procedures, and systems.
- Developing polices and standards for cash and credit management.
- Maintaining liaison with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Department of the Treasury, the General Accounting Office (GAO), and various Congressional committees agency financial management activities.
